It was posted on Wikipedia for a while...

...that Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt have a cameo in The Simpsons movie as zookeepers (naturally). It's been edited off now as there was no supporting evidence... but how amazing would that be? About as amazing as these things get, I'd reckon.

It would be if The Simpsons wasn't rubbish.

I'm not an uber-fan or anything, and as I only watch it on Channel 4, I can't really account for the last seven years' worth of Simpsons output, or whatever it is, but *rubbish*? Really? It's utterly life-affirming (they're one of the most together, stable and loving families on TV) and, you know, funny. It'd be good to hear why you don't like it....?

I've just never *got* it. I've probably only seen eight or so full episodes and so maybe they were all from the bad series, but I never found it entertaining as a kid when it was first on, and going back to uni where certain housemates would watch it every day it still never appealed to me. Every single episode would have one or two brilliantly funny lines, and the rest of the twenty minutes would just be filler.

Might also have something to do with it being animated: I've never got into Futurama, South Park or Family guy either, both of which I've given more than a fair shot - but I didn't even like the episode of Family Guy with William Shatner in it, or the South Park episode about World of Warcraft, and they couldn't pander to my sensibilities anymore if they tried... But it's not like I dislike animation in general either, as I'm a big fan of Anime, so who knows.

Maybe 'rubbish' was a bit harsh as it's better than random reality TV show number 6 but for me I just *don't* find it funny which is a major failing in a comedy.
